When I left Winton I went to Salford Tech and did a one year secretarial course. My first job was with a solicitor in Manchester and
he paid for me to go to St John's College to get my law degree. I stayed at that firm for 8 years, when I met my first husband and
moved to Enfield, North London in 1974.
I had a couple of Office Manager jobs in London with law firms, before being offered an Executive Assistant/Office Manager job for a hifi company in
London (NAD). That was in 1980.
In 1984 I was promoted to Director of Operations and luckily traveled the world, visiting distributors and our overseas offices.
I remained with NAD until 1993, when there was a corporate buy-out. I went back into the law at that point until 1997 when I came to Los Angeles
and married my second husband (I had divorced in 1984).
During my time with NAD, I was responsible for their international conferences, so when I came over here I started my own event management company:
Corporate Conferences. I do this part-time - the rest of the time I am an administrator for our local school district.
As and when I have client conferences to attend, it enables me to take time out accordingly.
