On a few of these web pages, Jeffrey has graciously given us permission to
reproduce some of his copyright photographs taken primarily in 1987. These
final days photographs, taken of the last class at Winton High School, are
an excellent tribute not only to the school itself but to Jeffrey's skill at
capturing the mood and feelings of this memorable time in history. Thank you Jeffrey. Jeffrey emailed me saying, "The work was done because the school was due to be closed. The form I photographed was from the last year of 1st. year children to go to the school. They later were transferred to Ellesmere Park School, which I think was the old Eccles Grammar". We will start by showing you an extract from an article that appeared in The Advertiser and talks about Jeffrey's exhibition, held at Monks Hall in 1987. The Death of a School Now checkout the pop up menu above. The year was 1987. The class was the final admitted. Jeffrey will take you through a school week, and show you how it unfolded. Enjoy! |
